Need detailed help on gen5/6 454 please!

hey guys i know this has already been a subject but i really need help here.

im looking for someone who has personally done this or who knows a lot about it. every where i read ( other forums, books, ect ect all say different things and mostly it was someone heard somewhere.

Im looking to find out the deffernce in the timing chain. not the cover cause i know that they are different. the actual chain and gears. summit shows seperate part numbers (gen5/6) but i can find a differnce.

Also the head gaskets for converting mark 4 heads to a gen 5 or 6 .. a lot of people say what they heard but looking if anyone has actually done it and what gaskets they used to make a good seal.

i built a nasty gen 5 454 but i have some things that i noticed a little late (after i put a ton of machine work into it.
for instince the block number says its a gen 5 but it has a spot to mount a fuel pump. not a big deal. however its a gen 5 block that was drilled for a gen 6 timing cover from the factory. so im assuming that the blocks got a little mixed at the factory. thats why i need to know about the chains. i have a ton of money into it and it ran for about 4 hours or so and the timing chain broke out of no where and i was not in it i was just cruising ... still have not been able to figure out what broke it but dont want it to happen again and had a litttle water leakage with the mark 4 heads on the newer motor...

VERY unusual for a BBC to break a t-chain. The stock t-set for Mark Vl is a single roller. I always replace with double roller.

I have not seen a head gasket described spec for use on early head to late block. There are gaskets for late head on early block. Victor-Reinz sells them. I have used Cometic and even Mr.Gasket teflon coated from their rebuild sets in this application. No leaks.
