need drag tires

i don't know what size rear drag tires to get for my firebird. The tires that are currently on the car are 215 65 15. I don't want to have to buy new rims and they need to fit in the stock wheel wells. Thanks in advance for your help...

Tell the tire shop or wherever you are going to get the slicks, Tell them the size you have on it now, Let them match a set to your tire size. They can get pretty close if not right on your size.JMO

You need to know your rim width to maximize the tire size. By using different wheels that will let you get the most tire width within the wheel wells, taking back spacing into consideration.

M&H has a 215/65/15 Street & Strip DOT tire for use on a 6" wide wheel they also have it in a 235/65/15 for a 6.5" wheel, then there is a G60 15 for a 7" wheel.

Keep in mind the wheel width should be measured from the inside lip where the tire bead seats.
I'm with gofastz on this one.
Also your rear gear ratio can play into which overall diameter to use.
I once put a 26" tire on a Challenger with 3.91's and I was sorry at the end of the track.
