need to find out the year of a 350 chevy

The numbers from the front of the engine are 1m1117 7h04

If your referring to the stamping on the front passengers side deck then the
"M" stands for GM of Mexico, which means it's more than likely a target master replacement engine. To get the date of the engine you'll need to look on the rear on the bell housing flange. On the rear drivers side the casting number is there, the casting number tells us what it is and the years it was produced.
Also on the bell housing flange will be a date code which will look like this example:
C 23 9
C is the month. C is third in alphabet so third month = March.
23 is the Date = The 23rd of march
The 9 is the year = 1959, 69, 79, 89, 99.
The casting number tells us what years that casting number was used, so if the casting number indicates the block was made from 1970 to 1980 we know it's a 1979 block.

chevy 350 date of block

The numbers on the back of the block are 10066036

10066036 is an 86 up 350, 205hp, a car & Truck 2 & 4-bolt manual passenger engine with 1pc RMS
