I need to know step by step how to install a steering shaft on a 2002 GT Mustang. Or if anyone knows of a site that I can get it off. It will be a big help.

I would think that a FORD Service Manual would be your best source of information. The steering column assembly will have to be removed (easier than in the car) and redone on the bench. There is a lot of electronics and a air bag on this system so you need to have the correct procedure to keep from damaging something or possibly injuring yourself.

If there is a dealer nearby, they might print out the procedure from disc. Otherwise, I would purchase the correct manual.

Question

You mean to tell me the disassembly procedure is not in the 2002 FORD Shop Manual? Are you sure you weren't looking at a Chilton or something?

If it is not in your copy, it must be an early print and was not included until a later printing.

I can think of nowhere's else that you will find complete details and warnings. Not even ALL-DATA.
