i have a set of the 049 casting heads on my motor. i also started with a set of those peanut ports and i sold them to a guy who was building a boat. lol.
the specs for my motor are: Holley Marine card 750 CFM. (cant think of the part number, but its an OLD holley carb) Weiand action plus intake. 049 heads, stock ports/valve size Comp gold series roller rockers Lunati 280 bare bones cam matched with lifters. PN 10202Lk ADV duration In:272 Ex:280 @.050" In:224 Ex:234 valve lift with 1.7:1 rockers In:.527 Ex:.553 LSA is 112/107 degrees. ebay was a little off with its numbers and i believe the intake was a in the .533 range.. dont have the cam card with me. Comp 3/8ths push rods Cloyes gear drive timing set Stock HEI dit. (will be changing soon) .030 flat top pistons stock size crank and rods when i get back from Afghanistan i will be rebuilding the bottom end with forged crank, rods, and pistons. will also be going with a set of domed pistons for a little more compression. also getting a new intake. i dont have much power past 5,500 RPM. could also be my heads too, those will also get a little work done to them. but as she sits she is a heck of a street machine. |

I ordered the heads and the motor came with long tube hooker headers. Hopefully they will be fine. I was going to just go ahead and buy the pistons but I thought I might want to have the block checked out first. I'm positive the bore is fine but is there any reason that the domed pistons won't work? Say if the block has ever been machined? Or should I just buy them and get it done?
