I need some help trying to find what to set the valve lash on my cam. Ok Its a Elgin solid lifter cam, small block chevy, the grind number is 1091 specs are 256 264 @ 50 504 504 lift, 106 lobe sep. Ive checked all over the internet for cam cards for this thing havent found any. I found on a dirt track site it said lash should be .026 is that cold or hot? I think it was like .022 but cant remeber if that was hot or cold. Ive been runing a hydraulic cam the last three years, i put my back up motor in and set the valves .022 hot. They seem pretty noisy but im not used to the solids. Ive got hardended push rods, guide plates, and roller rockers. I just dont want to mess my cam up, any info would be appreciated. Thanks john

Spec I've got is .026" hot for this grind, but it never hurts to run them a little tight. You're fine, just get used to the sound again(and the increased power). Hydraulic cams are for girls!
