Channeling was something done years ago to lower a car. You cut the floor out, lowerer the body over the frame and welded it back in. It was cheap and dirty in most cases. It was usually done to something like a Model A or Duece. I say "was" because there are much better ways to lower a car. Most people only "Channel" something for the "romance" of reliveing the good old days, AKA "Rat Rods".
On something like a 51 Chevy "Steping", "Cing" or "Zing" the frame would make a lot more sense. But then again, with modern independent, air bags, etc. even that may not be needed.
well my friend has no floor on the car right now so he wanted to channel it so he wants to know how to go about it? or what would make more sence to do
I have to tell you, channeling is a BIG job. If he is up to it, I guess, but there is more to it than just lowering the body. You have a zillion mods after that.
Why is there no floor, is it rotted out or something? If that is the case, I recommend just replacing it.
But if you really want to, post some pictures on where the body mounts and maybe we can come up with a plan.
yeha the floor was rotted out since there is no floor my friend desided that he wanted to channel it ill try to get pics as soon as posible
