Are you asking to replace the manual trans column with the Automatic column??

If so---should bolt right in

If you still have a floor shift----just remove the column lever.

No Biggy

I have an AT tilt in my 4-spd 79

collumn

well the 79 came with a 4spd but the guy i bought it from put an auto in it with a floor shifter and he was using a screwdriver to start it i put a new lock cylinder in it but the internals inside the colum are shot so im just swapping colums out with my 80 gmc and it has a column auto shifter in it from the factory so i was just wondering if they were gonna be able to swap them out without changing major stuff around on it cuz the 80 gmc column has a good lock cylinder in it already

It will work just fine.
You can even go do a bit of junkyarding and get the linkage and anchors to use the column shift.

I think I even have all that stuff on an 81 that is in my yard

well the linkages dont matter cuz the truck is being put back to a 4spd i was just wondering if there were gonna be any problems hooking them up or if anything had to be modified to make them fit
