Front pad stamp numbers
10C126513 031CU the c on the 2nd stamp could be an 0 or o ?
First set of 9 is the last year of the old body codes, not an engine number.
The second set looks like a partial engine number. Look around the back on the bell housing boss of the block drivers side just below that head there should be the block casting number which will get it into the ball park.
The "031CU" 5 digit code should actually be 7 digits long. The should be a letter before the first "O" and it looks like the "C" should be a "O" and the empty gap between the "C" and the "U" looks like it may have been an "M".
Looks to me like it should have been "T0310MU"??
"MU" is 1967 350 4 barrel, 295HP, Powerglide transmission in an F-body(Camaro/Firebird) or X-body(Nova). Depending on date codes and manufacturing date of car, this could be correct for an early production 1968 car.
Clean and check that code stamp area good with a wire brush or a scotchbrite pad, to see if more becomes visible...and post the block casting number off the bellhousing flange behind the drivers side head.
The last 6 digits in your other string should also match the last 6 digits in the vehicle VIN if the engine is original.
