Need Help ~ Felpro 1003 Gasket or Felpro 1004

Hello, I'm working on my sbc 388 stroker and was wondering which gasket is best for my build. I have searched the web and found some have use the felpro 1003 and some have use the felpro 1004.

Help me decide which gasket is best for my build

Here is a list of what I've got:
A decked 350 bored 4.060
Holley 650 double pumper
Edelbrock RPM Air gap
Aluminum Pro comp cnc 64cc 200cc intake runners
Forged -12cc Probe pistons
Forged 5.7 rods
400 cast crank(stroke 3.750)
Hyd. roller Comp cam 288
Specs:
Dur. 288/294
Dur. @ .50 236/242
valve lift 520/540
lobe lift 347/360
lobe sep. 110

Both gaskets are .041 comp thickness which will give me 10.1 comp, but I am confused and not sure on the correct bore size I'm needing. So what do you guys recommend? Thanks

THe smallest bore gasket that will work is more reliable and will lessen the quench volume, which is always a good thing.

You might want to consider the Felpro 1010 gasket. It has a copper wire ring instead of the steel ring. I understand that the steel ring will brinnel, or dent the aluminum heads where the copper won't. Thats not so bad, but if you have to replace the gasket you must use the same pn gasket, or re-surface the head. Well thats the way I understand it. The 1010 is a little thinner(0.039" compressed), but has the same 4.166" dia.

As far as bore diameter goes, the 1003 should give you a c.r. of 9.79:1, the 1004 9.79:1, with both being .041 compressed, so bore size isn't critical. The steel ring issue ssmonty mentions is something to think about.

head gaskets

Here is an excellent gasket to use with your aluminum heads. the bore is not as large as the fel-pro 1010 either. http://www.jegs.com/i/Cometic+Gasket...7-040/10002/-1
