Are you trying to get the steering box pieces off of the steering column? If so try taking the clamp nut loose that is closer to the firewall. n then try sliding it off.

take the steering wheel off, loosen the clamp above the box, and pull the column off the shaft. The shaft itself is pressed and brazed into the gear.

Yep, early Mustangs were this way. The steering gear all the way to the threads that hold the steering wheel on is one piece.

OK, ENGIN is right, the clamp is loose and it will not move, Yep, i gotta pull the entire shaft out from the firewall side, and i don't know if i have room for that, without taking the whole colume off. I'm going for it right now.
