Need help identifying grille shell

While field and barn hunting for a body for my next project I came across this car. I would like to use the grille shell for my next project. This car had no identifying badges so I don't know what it is. I assume it is from the 20's. Does anybody know what it is?

Did some poking around on the web, but can't come up with anything similar.

The grille shell is very attractive, whatever it is.

I checked most of the usual suspects, but there were a whole lot of auto manufacturers kicking around before the '29 crash. Could be something obscure.

Did it have an engine or anything on the dash that might give some more clues? It may even be from the mid to late teens...

You're just going to use the grille? What of the rest of the car?

Need help identifying grille shell

ckucia - I had looked around for a long time trying to find this grille. I thought it was possibly a Chandler but the only pic I was able to find was a line drawing in an ad and the grille was not very viselike. Today when you answered I tried to find that ad and came across this site and these photos. Click on Featured Car:

http://clubs.hemmings.com/frameset.cfm?club=chandler

Success I think. What do you think?

If you don't think this is it then this is the only other pic I have of the field car. I didn't pay much attention to it as there were several more cars there that interested me more.

Homebrew,

You beat me by just a few minutes.

I think it is a Chandler.

Check out these pics:

Not only is the grille the same, but the headlight buckets and the indentations on the front fenders seem to match pretty well.

Pretty neat car.

If for some reason you decide to take this on, I recommend a visit to Cleveland.

I used to be a page (kid who goes and gets materials) for the Western Reserve Historical Society (got the pics off their site). They have a pretty amazing archive of old literature, and they specialize in Cleveland-based cars.

You can always contact them ahead of time and see what they have.

I'm not sure there's enough left of that one to do anything but rod.

In any event, that field looks like some sort of hodrodder's heaven.

FASTCHEVY - Yes, I'm just going to use the grille. I guess you posted the question before you saw the rest of the car. Now that I know what it is I will go back and find out what the serial numbers are to find out what the year and model it is. Then I will see if anyone needs parts.

ckucia - No I won't be taking it on but like I said I will make a trip back after the muddy roads dry up and do more investigating. You are right that ravine was a field of dreams. Here is what else I found there:
