I know this may be a stupid question but anyone know where the oil filter is on a pontiac tech for banger its in a 1986 pontiac grand am coupe? thanks,
GOTH
its in the oil pan, you have to remove the big plug in the bottom. I only had to deal with once and it was a 20 min ordeal including two pairs of vice grips (one broke) a BFH and I recommend keeping small children and little old ladies away..... :spank:
no its just a plate about 4-5" round I think with a bolt head molded in to the center, if it was oiled properly before installation it *should* come out easily
thirdscott...i changed hte oil today and i still cant find the filter..this is starting to aggrivate me...theres no plate like that on my pan and i cant find it in the engine bay...so if you or anyone else can help me hunt this annoying part of my car down ...i would be extremly gratful..thanks a million,
GOTH
Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and check for the oil filter behind the vented cover just in front of the axle shaft. I think this is where they put them. They move them around all the time. Good luck!!
dang...i wish id a seen this earlier when i was over there with my car...its at my aunts right now....ill check first thing in the morning ....i really apreciate it man,and thanks a million,
GOTH
