Need help with Quadra-jet

well i put a cherry bomb glass pack and took the catylic converter off and a different air cleaner set up on a quadrajet carb and now its running really lean it feels like it looses power when you floor it. it runs good when we have cooler weather out though almost a night and day difference. how can i adjust the carb so i can make it run a little richer. I've heard of people bending the end of a piece of copper tubing so i can screw the jets out but what do you guys think i should do. any other tips on how to tune quadrajets would be apreciated too.

A QJ is not the first carb you should work on IMO.

If it seems to "run lean" when you floor it, you most likely to go to a smaller diameter secondary metering rod. Very easy to change. 5 minute job. Easiest way is to pull them and mic the tip and then go about 10 thousands smaller. There are still lots of online carb places that sell rods and primary jets.
