The tranny will not up shift while in drive

Or .... the tranny seems to be in 'drive '( car wants to move) when the shifter is in 'park'?

regarding my post of 3-1-06 .th350 will not shift out of drive. when shifted to park or reverse it locks up, tries to go forward but can't. recently during cold weather the torque converter is slow to load up, but works normal when warm. this "71" 4x4 has about 8000 mi on the rebuilt th350 thanx , fmf.

regarding your recent additional comments:

pull the tranny pan. Sounds like the internal linkage is unhooked or other wise malfunctioned.

Did you install the shift modification kit?

Did you build the tranny?
