Like the title says. I'm putting together a 383 and need help on what i really need from cams, to heads , to intake and carb.

The truck is a 82 chevy that HAD 305 and want to drop in a 383 stroker.

What i have so far is a sbc 89 350 4 bolt 1pc. core. That's it....I have a long way to go but i'm trying to get close to 450hp.(more would be nice)...If the truck ever hits the track it will most likely be the 1/8 so i'm looking for lowend power. MAYBE a 100 shot nos, MAYBE!

I'm planing on buying these heads (if there the correct ones)and going from there.I've gotten a quote for a stroker kit balanced w/ harmonic and flywheel for $689.00( is that a good price? )

I'm stuck from here on what cams, intake,dist. and carb to use.

I've read so much and now more than confused myself,Once i'm done with motor, tranny's next.........Sooooo i'm all hears. Please help.

Here's a 350 and two 383 builds I tested on the DynoSim. Start here and ask questions as you come across them. Keep all your questions on this same thread so that other board members can keep up and give intelligent answers....
