Need help w/ knocking 350

I got a 350 vortec that runs fine when initially cranked but starts to know after it gets to operating temp. Does any one have an idea of what that could be????

Hows the oil pressure? Could be a rod bearing . Is it a knock or a ticking sound. Cole

Yes it will usually drop after warms up, depending on how much it drops though, It sounds to me like it might be a bearing and if you spin a bearing it will get your crank when it goes if hase'nt already and can get more depending on how severe it is, Now i am not saying it's a bearing gone put but it has the symptom's of it. Have you changed your oil lately if not you can drain the oil and check for metal in the oil/oil pan.Did it just start doing this ?JMO. Cole

If you have it out nows the time to drop the pan and check for metal in the pan and check the bearings. may be time for a overhaul. When you start pulling rod caps and main caps be sure to mark them so to put them back where they came from, Good luck. Cole
