need ideas for cheaply painting 79 TA

anybody got a series of steps that I can follow. I think what I'll do is, sand it all down, then prime it? then rattle it, wet sand it, then gloss it. That's a pretty lame plan, anyone got any better ideas? I heard something about Rustoleum roll on being good for 50 bucks. Maybe sand it then have maaco do a cheap job. I would rather do this less then 100 bucks though. What I'd like to do it use a lot of partard power. It's like horsepower but less.

Whatever you do, don't use a spray can.
You'll just have a bigger mess to clean up later.
You can get acrylic enamel for $50.00.
It's not great but compared to a spray can, it's fabulous.
Probably cheaper too.

I would recommend for under $100.00 use a urethane.
(The whole "kit" is less than $200.00, w/ primer and clear)
They have some nice colors and it's pretty tough stuff.
Far better than enamel.
If you can't afford that, you can't afford to paint your car.
