Red face Need improved engine performance

My car (35 Ford Tudor) does not have the horse power that I would like to have. Currently it has a stock 302 Ford/4v with a C4 tranny and 3.55 rear gears.

I have been thinking about building a 302 Ford roller engine set up. What should the compression ratio be to use 93 octane pump gas? Also what type of a roller cam setup will provide the best reliability and performance? I plan to use the Roush steel heads. Valve size to be determined. Engine currently has a 650cfm carb. Mallory ignition. I would like to have super low end torque performance. What type intake manifold should I use?

Due to clearance problems between the frame and engine, after market headers cannot be used. I am currently using Ford performance headers.

What needs to be done to beef up the C-4 transmission. I want to retain the the 3.55 gears in the rear end.

The car weighs 3200 lbs. All information you can provide me will be appreciated.

I`m not much on fords, but if I was after torque, I`d go with a 351 windsor. 302`s have a short stroke of 3.00 and are really more of a revver than a torque engine. tis just my 2 cents.
