Need info Ingersoll Rand 224 A

I am looking at a Ingersoll Rand IR 224 A, air impact wrench. I can not find any info on the net about them. Is anybody familiar with them. I am suspecting they are an older wrench given the 224 #. Will appreciate any help

Where did you get that number from? I believe that is the older model impacts. I recall when I use to work for a manufacturing company, I use to order nothing but Ingersoll Rand air impacts for assembly line type work. The part number sequence was very close to that. I'd contact Ingersoll Rand and have them cross reference the number.

i don't know about that number, but i have an ingersall-rand 1/2 drive i have been useing since the mid 70s. when i was a mechanic it got used dozens of times every day. i'm retired now but still use it almost every day. i can't recommend them highly enough. it never gave a single problem and runs as strong as the day i bought. only maintenance it has ever had is a few drops of oil in the air hole every once in a while. it probably has over a million bolt/feet- -on it.

The number is on the wrench
Cat No: 224
Model: A
Serial No: 6060

It is the one in the middle. Look familiar to anyone. It looks like an oldie to me, which is fine, even preferred if it works OK.

I made a phone call to my parts buddy. There is no listing for a 224A model. I think you have the number wrong. Could it be the 244A? That is the 1/2 inch impact wrench. The older numbers were 231C, 244A etc. Now they have the four degit numbers and some have the series number IR244A, etc. Hope this helps.

thanks Kleen, that was my question to the seller, but he said he had checked and it was 224. I'll ask for a better picture. My only concern is parts availability if it that rare of a wrench. thanks for calling your bud.

If you didn't get any more information- PM me. It was discontinued before I started at IR, but I'll check it out for you if you want.

Thanks IRGuy and all. I've decided to pass on it and look for something a little newer.
