Need input on custom chop idea
I love the looks of the 50's, early 60's sports cars but want something different. I have a 356 speedster replica and really enjoy it but want to build something front engined. Nice 50's corvettes and mercedes are going for big money so I'm thinking about going a different route. I have some experience modifying vehicles and doing bodywork and I don't necessarily want info on how hard it will be to build ( I know what is involved) but rather a critique on the style. It will be front engine and rear wheel drive and is based on a karmann ghia body style. Here are a couple of photochops I did to get an idea of what I could do. Input very welcome, positive or negative.

I like the look of the bottom orange car also, and although I like the balance of the top orange car, the porsche roof on the lower one will get the chicks.
I don't think I'd do it from scratch though. I will admit that I'm lazy....(and Brian likes to challenge people )Later, mikey

Sure that porshe roof may look pretty good. But check it out with a honda element inspired roofline. Hope the gmg monkey boys don't steal that design idea. Mrs Brownie girl sure does seem to like it, more room to store brownies I guess.
Okay, I am going to try to be serious for split second (doesn't happen too often). I like the second orange one the best. Just think in the pic the roof looks a little like it got scrunched or something, slopes down to far in back, but if it didn't slope at such a drastic angle I think I would like it. Wonder what it would look like if you made the rear roof pillar just a little wider, little bit like the '69 mustang fastback.I like the rest of it in the second orange one, all the lines and curves. |

Ok kenny , you been up for what, 4, 5 days?
I'm sending nurse hilda over with some nice green sleepytime juice. (You should have laid the windshield back more. That's how I knew you lost it) Your friend, Mikey

sure send hilda over. It really time I get some sleep, but this way the weekends seem longer. This no drinking stuff, alcohol used to do the sleepy passy out trick well.. If she's gonna drug me, Just make sure brownie girl stays home.
