Post need little spider gears and pin or spool

its a 8.5 with stock 2.41, the little spider gears and pin are going. chevrolet wants 370 for gears and pin, was wondering were are they cheaper. are how much work would it be to go with a spool. thanks tony

try a trans shop, most do rears also. major metro areas have rear end shops they would also have the parts it's common for those rears to have pin and spider problems, as for a spool i don't think you can get a 2 series spool and even if you did you wouldn't like it they are dangerous on the street in weather or try ing to park or go around a corner. been there done that.

im a take your advice about the spool. i got the gears and pin from a junk yard for 50 bucks. just finished installing carrier and it started raining. thanks for the help. oh, you whouldnt know what to torque those caps down to.
