is the trans in a s10 the same as a trans in a full size p.u. 1500, if the're both v6's that is, i was told that the t5 would'nt hold up as good with a v8, so i didn't know if the one in the 1500 was the same or if it was any better. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

The 2.8 V-6 S-10 used a T-5. The 4.3 used a NV3500 in an S-10. The NV3500 was used in full size applications with a 4.3 and 305. I don't know if they all had the NV3500 or not. I did see a 305 powered Blazer that had a NV3500.

You are right about the S-10 T-5 not holding a V-8 well. I think they had a factory rating of 230 ft lbs torque. The NV3500 is a much better trans.

thanks alot 4 the info,im glad to hear that i just bought a 2001 chevy with the 4.3 in it, i dont plan on changing the engines for a while, it only has 25,000 miles on her. but when i do it'll be good to know that i have a little bit stronger trans. thanks again
