Best way Ive found to do that, is find a picture of a car with the candy paint. Then just copy the color from one picture to the other with the eye dropper tool. Then change the shade of the candy color by making a second layer on top of the candy.
Ill try and show you what I mean later tonight, Im about to leave for work so I should have time later tonight.

I formatted my pc, dont have ps on it at the time being so ill try and describe how i do it the best i can from memory...

outline the body of the car that you want to change colors, then change the saturation of the color, turn it either white, some shade of grey, or black (black doesnt work too well for me on ps for a base, it hides some body lines and other stuff) depending on how dark you want the final color to be. Then after turning it one of those base colors, you go to the color change option, its under the edit or image toolbar section, then you just move the sliders to which ever color you prefer..... thats about it..

It's like painting a real kandy I guess (only alot easier on photoshop), they start off the same way, white silver or black base then spray on your see through pigmented clear that goes over it.
