Post Need some advice

I have a 1969 GTO hardtop with the 400 engine in it. I have some mods to the engine, and would like to be able to have decent 1/4 mile times and was wondering what kind of rear end i should get, i am a little new to doing anything outside of the engine itself and don't know what kind of rear end would give me better performance and was looking for some advice. It has an automatic 4 speed transmission. If you need to know anything else about it that I didn't post, just ask. Oh, the rear end is stock as it is right now.

Thanks.

You want full on race balls to the wall type rear, or just a nice rear for race and ride, if you want race 4:11, if you want race/ride 3:73's, thats just my opinion of course.

Half-Life player HK? (referring to the little pic you've got yourself there.) And thanks for the advise.

You posted that you are running a 4spd Auto- I assume that is one of the GM overdrives? 700, 200, 4L60, etc. The GM overdrives are all 0.7:1 in OD, so a 3.70 gear becomes a 2.88....very cruisable ratio- Another plus is the first gear in the GM OD's is a little lower than a TH350 or 400.

Good luck.
