Need some help!

Im new to this forum and somewhat car illiterate, I had spoken to my dad before about something called a "stall convertor" and "line locks" and what he said it does is for an automatic car it locks up the wheels and whatever RPM you set it to ( say 5500 RPM) you stomp the pedal and the car wont launch until it hits that 5500 RPM, does such a thing exist and if so where could i find one for a 1996 Ford Mustang GT???? THANKS ALOT!

Stall converters slip until the designed rpm is achieved. A 2500rpm stall converter will slip, but will pull until 2500rpm is met, then will transfer a 1 to 1 ratio (engine rpm is transmission shaft rpm) to the transmission.

A line lock, at least the one I am familiar with is a momentary contact button activated solenoid that locks only the front brakes of a car. The button is usually on the shifer. When a car stages at the start of a quarter mile the button is pushed and the front brakes lock preventing movement. At that point the driver applies power to "load up" the driveline. As the christmas tree decends to green the button is released and the accelerator stomped to the floor.
