Need some input.....

I will soon be ready to start on my "Project Double Trouble". I posted a photoshop illustration of it a few months back.

Basically, I have a 1951 Ford F-1 pickup that I plan on making a new frame for and I plan on stretching the bed and rear fenders enough to accomodate a tandem axle look. I do not plan (right now) to have both rear axles as drive axles.

My dilemma comes in the form of making it move.

I am searching for a really inexpensive (as close to $0 dollars as I can get) donor car. All I want from the car is the motor, tranny and rear end.

Can I get some suggestions of what to look for. I prefer Chevy seeing as how it is cheeper to build one. How do the older Oldsmobile Rocket 350s compare to a Chevy 350 - any difference?

I definately want a whole car and not a piece milled drivetrain. I will need all the brackets for the new frame I am building.

I will also be considering using the front suspension for the ground work for the new frame. I will be using airbags, so it would have to be something that can take aftermarket suspension parts.

The new frame will be close to stock dimensions with the exception of it being longer and a body-dropless design.

I am not as concerned with HP as I am having good looks with a finished product. I will not be racing this truck, just showing it and driving it around, so it does have to be dependable. I will not be trailoring it for the most part- it will be driven to all shows with in a 2 hour drive time from me.

I am not locked in on a chevy, so I would welcome any other suggestions.

The frame for the new truck will be very close to stock width. It will be made from 2" x 4" 0.120" (wall thickness) tubing. Sorry, I do not have that dimension readily available right now. But I am supplying this info so that you can suggest something that has a close axle width.

Any help would be much appreciated.
