Need to swap out a 4L60 in 1988 GMC with a 1992 4L60

hi i posted a question on here a while back and i got some great feedback...... here is my delema, i have a 1988 gmc, swb 1500 5.7 w/a 700r4 it has no reverse, second or o.d., can i use a trans from a 92 suburban, it is a 700 r4, not sure of engine its a craigslist deal.

will it work ? I need it bad and he is giving a 30 day warranty with it . Its cheap i am braoke and need a job.... any fast help is GREATLY apprecitated !

yep, itll bolt straight up. They are totally the same setup's. Get it and hurry up before he sell it.

Lets hope the internal wire harness and pressure switch on the valve body are the same

can i use one from like a 87 ,

can i use one for a 87 ? if so, what would i need to take off my old one and put it on the good trans ? for the speedo ?

Either the 92 or 87 will work but, you will need to drop the Pan & look at the wiring Harness & switches to make sure it's the same as your 88. If they're not, swap them around.
The Filter & Fluid will need changing anyway. I'd also change all the external seals while they're easy to get to. The 92 may be less work as it will have the Electronic Speedo.
