Need Tail Panel Help! Please

Hello, Right now im doing my 69 firebird convertible. I have a brand new N.O.S. tail panel. The problem is that im missing a peice to it. Its the piece that is normally spot welded to the tail panel, and the spot welds are visible with the rear bumper off, its a small peice of metal i think called a reinforcement panel. I cant find one anywhere!!

Before I can take my outer and inner fender wells, my trunk pan, qaurter panels and weld them to the car, i need this peice so id no where my tail panel would lie. Its like a big tree in the raod haulting my progress

I know for the 1969 camaro they sell new tail panels for 90 bucks, but what do guys do about finding this reinforcement bar. Its like 2 inchese wide and follows the same countour of the bumper but inside the car.

Can someone please help me find out where the 1969 camaro guys get this bar, or where I can go to get one

I am currently restoring a 69 Camaro convertible. I believe the panel you are talking about is the "rear inner valance" the majority of this panel is below the trunk floor behind the rear tail panel. Only a few inches show inside the trunk (directly below the rear tail lights). I am not sure if this panel is the same on a Firebird. I purchase my Camaro parts thru D&R Classic Automotive in Illinois. You can get all the info. you need to contact them, thru the website www.drclassic.com.

Thank you for the input, but i beleive it is another peice. This peice has the bolts for the rear bumper going through it, It is sandwhiched beetween the rear tail and the "Trunk floor to Tailpan Braces"
