need tips on locating a 2.2L saturn engine...

ok we acquired a 2002 saturn L series car with a blown engine in it to repair and sell since the car is spotless nice.

its the 2.2L engine.

i have checked every single yard in our region and no one has one or can get one
and ive also posted on craigslist. but all there is out there are the 1.9L engines, in the larger S series cars.

any ideas?

the only ones i saw were too far away and were over a grand each...

these cars must be rare as hell wow..

thanks

'98 was a new redesign on the gm 2.2L J body engines,

new head and manifolds and injection and etc,

thats all i know,,.

there are 2.2s available in Philadelphia, I'll have to check how far Ill is from me, & maybe I could meet you at the Ill state line.
It's 775 miles, that's a little to far

yeah hmm too far hmmm..

he went ahead and is giving 850 for a 2.2L through a yard here, but its taking a week to freight it... wont be here until about wednesday....

hmmmm....

crappy deal, but got no choice

is not a single one around here in central IL......... hmmmmmmmmm...........

this was the first and the last 2.2 saturn i will be involved with

ever..

too damn rare and apparently garbage and problematic.. apparently the 2.2L is a junk engine from factory..

like the 2.0L SOHC ford focus engines as well......

Fast,
I didn't say it was too far, I'm retired & for me everyday is saturday, I was thinking about the cost, my truck gets 14mpg it's 1,550 miles round trip, gas prices here $2.76 gal. 14into1,550=111gal. X $2.76=$306. just for gas, I thought it would be cheaper to have it shipped.
