Need Tire Help

I have a restored '68 Chev Impala Wagon and I am trying to find some whitewall tires. Seems like few are made today. I prefer either Goodrich or Goodyear, but will buy another brand if need be. The size I need is 225-70-15. Anyone know a brand, tire model, that fits the bill (I do not want to buy coker or other aftermarket brands).

Well I know I like Good Years Eagle GT +4.
I used to get them off of the cop cars big difference in the way the car(s) handled they did come white wall.

I would not put a Good Year TRUCK tire on anything.

I liked the raised white letters on the eagles too but thats not what you are looking for.

Your not looking for the big fat white walls are you?

Yokohama Aegis LS4 tires come in 225/70-15 with white stripes. My Grand Marquis, bought used last year, came with them in 215/70-15, and they seem to be pretty good tires. Here's a link to Tire Rack's info on them:

225/70r15 is or at least was a very common tire size. I work in a tire/alignment shop and I know we have white wall tires in that size in at least 2 different brands. You can also get Vogues which are, if I remember correctly, white wall with a gold colored stripe around the edge, pretty good lookn in my opinion. I suggest trying a local tire shop, its actually a common request for white wall, white letter, and outlined white letter. If all else fails you may have to go with another size. A 215/70r15 would be just a bit smaller, like 10mm in width. The 70 is the % of 225 and is the sidewall height. So the overall height would't be very noticable.

Oy yea 1 more comment. Goodyears suck. If you get 1 good year your lucky. Exceptions are drag racing tires and semi.
