I figured instead of hijacking a different thread I'd establish a new "official" abandoned car/building/other items of interest to us hotrodders thread.
1) Chrysler Airflow??? Woodhaven, MI
2) 76? Buick sedan, for sale 'somewhere I think along m50'. It's been there for a while. 455v8, white interior. It'd be a beauty of a cruiser.
3) K5 blazer and Opel? in the background. Charlotte, Mi
4) Old IH sod farm truck, near Lansing, MI. Note "Go Green" on corner of hood.
5) Dodge Ramcharger and Ford Ranchero in Woodhaven, MI
The building is (was) Federal Screw Works in Chelsea, MI. I like old factories and stuff as I wonder what they were like in their prime, providing the locals with an honest living and all, the Detroit pictures are kind of apocolyptic.... more later though.
Car in field is a 40? Ford between Stockbridge and Chelsea, Mi
Oldsmobile has a Rocket v8, was sitting in someone's front yard forever, then I saw it at local pik-a-part in the lot, then behind this fence, then I guess it got ground up and sent to China. "nobody was interested in it" said the guy at the counter when I asked about it. Seems to me they should do better advertising on the old stuff they have. It's kind of a niche market, especially the old old stuff like Olds Rocket v8s and stuff.
White concrete building I think might be the old fisher body plant in Detroit, closed in the mid 1970s... Building in night picture that looks like several buildings is "Cadillac Place", aka the old GM Building. The run down neighborhoods are pretty chilling to drive through in a pharmacy van!
'55? Pontiac Star Chief coupe...
'70? Olds Cutlass Supreme Convertible
'63? Lincoln (rear suicide doors are cool)
Mack Truck from before OldRed was around
Nice late 70s Chevrolet stepside
Nova was my great-grandma's... green on green 1970? Nova coupe, 307v8 backed by an automatic on the column. Has poverty caps. Would be nice to restore, but with a 396 and beefed up driveline. Currently rotting behind my uncle's house in Coopersville, Mi
Ford Fairlane was in Byron Center, Mi. I have no idea what happened to it.
~70 Grand Prix is in front of the place with all of the old trucks and machine shop stuff.
'54 Chevrolet is at my best friend's wife's cousin's house. Still sitting outside. Same spot. :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: Nice ol inline six, 3 on the tree. Cool cruiser.
Clean pontiac from a local JY. Had keys in the ignition, and it cranked over. A week later it was a victim of the crusher. Interior was nice as well.
Last pics are 1940 Chevrolet... I posted pics of this wondering what it was a while back. Just down the road from where I used to live in Cutlerville, Mi. A new garage was built around the car. It was the owners's first car, and I assume "he'll restore it someday". Lots of old parts and models and stuff were found in the rubble of the old garage, so I think he must've been quite the car guy. Has some hand pinstriping on all his cars...
Firebird was in some backyard near my ex-gf's house in Cutlerville, MI. Later found at junkyard, and then I assume it's now part of about 600 toyota priuses.
Green Chevrolet was in another yard in Cutlerville... sunk kinda low into the ground, but I'm sure it's salvageable somehow (as a custom?).
'74 Buick Skylark GS neat a body shop in Cutlerville Mi. Haven't seen it in a while, dunno if they fixed it and sold it or what. Had a 455 air cleaner housing in the drivers seat.
A lot of cool old pics, love and hate them...I love looking at them but hate the thought that they just rot away. I would be in deep doo doo if I were ever to win the lotto, I'd need a lot of old warehouses for my treasures...lol. Thanks for sharing.P,S, get after that Nova before it's too late. Hemmings Muscle Car has an article about a Yenko Nova this month, what a fun clone that would be, If you like I will send it to you to bait your uncle with, tell him to **** or get off the pot!
Your photos are great! I "like" the ones of the old factory's. America should be ashamed of it's self letting this production stop because we are willing to whore our selves by buying stuff from another country. Makes me sick to my stomach.

I'll post more pictures soon. Hopefully others post their pictures (a 'before' picture of any projects/completed cars out there will probably qualify) soon.!
