neutral safety switch

I have a Lokar floor shifter with neutral safety switch on a TH350 transmission
that allows the motor to start in park, neutral AND drive. All other gears the nss does not allow the motor to start. Drive is the only problem. Is the switch bad or is there some type of adjustment I need to make?
Thanks

Not sure how its set up, but likely bolts to the side of the handle and you should be able to see where its making contact.......probably just needs adjusting

on my Hurst, the micro switches are mounted in the side of the shifter, one is for the rev lights and the other is the NSS. twice mine has bounced out of adjustment.... a drop of lock-tite and it's been good since.

You need to disconnect the linkage from the shifter to the transmission.
Using an ohmmeter to determine when the NSS is closed (to permit starting), move the shifter to the neutral position. The switch should be closed. Then move the shifter to the drive position. The switch should open but if the switch is still closed unscrew the switch from the shifter bracket just a small amount until the switch opens as indicated by the meter. Then move the shifter to neutral to see if the switch closes. If it does then this should be the position for the switch. Then put a washer on the switch threads to keep it in position. After this recheck the switching to see if the switch is closed in neutral and park and open in all the gears.
Install, adjust the shift linkage to the transmission.
