neutral safety switch

i have a 1993 buick roadmaster, which is basicly the same as the 1993 chevy impalas and caprices. my reverse lights would not come on so i looked under the dash by the steering column and i saw the neutral safety switch hanging by the wires. i was wondering where and how it goes back onto my steering column. there are no screws or bolts involved.

thanks in advance

NS/Backup switch

Doc here,

Is this the switch?

If so it looks like it press fits in the top, lower end of the Column.

Look for a "slot" on the top of the column, then align up the switch operator with the linkage Detent..Then, slide on end of the switch in the slot and press down on the other until you feel it click..replace the plug ...

That should do it..

If this is the switch.

Doc
