neutral safety wiring on B&M 'sport shifter" on the floor

I changed trans. from a standard 3 on the column to a turbo350 on my 56 chev. and added a B&M 'sport shifter" on the floor, since my chev. didnot
come with a safety switch, I believe I need to cut wire from ignition switch to starter and add wires to connect to the shifter wire ends from shifter switch, which creates a circuit for the inavertant starting in any gear? Any help appreciated. Thanks

You can splice the Shifter's N/S switch into the wire that goes to the Starter Solenoid from the Ignition switch.

I must have spliced the neutral saftey switch into the wrong wire on starter, because I get no change. I have the switch adjusted, so I think I need to switch connection to hot side of starter where the other wire is with batt. cable. I only have 2 wires on my solenoid, Looking at starter, one wire goes to the connector on right terminal, and the oyher wire is colocated with batt. cable post which is obviously hot all the time. Thanks

trans neutral safety switch

I`m having trouble hooking up my neutral safety switch on my B&M floor shifter on my 56 chev. that I converted from stick shift to auto 350 trans.
I installed wire from safety switch on shifter to terminal on solenoid and made sure my neutral switch is adjusted perfectly. My solenoid has 2 wires to it, one purple to small terminal on right side, looking at solenoid, and one black hooked to batt. post, and no other wires. But I cannot get it to work right, as it still starts in all gears. I would think that the wire that is colocated on the solenoid with batt. terminal would be too much power to the neutral switch? Thanks for any help.
