the never ending project
i have been out of the body work field for a while. i am jumping back in with my 68 bird that i have hade for the better of 13 years.
my questions are the quarters. they are as far forward as they will go.the gaps are about 1/8th of an inch wider than the originals at the door and trunk. i put some pics up of the gaps.the strikers are not set in the door yet. i havent welded anything down yet.
i know i can adjust the doors but they were in perfect posithion before with no wind noise.
i had to roll the quarters up to close the gaps at the truck.
i bolted up my c5 brakes to make sure they line up and fit. im unsure of them because the caliper bracket is made of aluminum. i have seen them on a few cars. and was told they hold up. but i would trust hard steel a lot more.
its been a while since i worked at the dealership. so i just wanted to get some advice from you guys that are still in with booth feet. would you rate the fit as fair? i hated aftermarket parts when in the shop. i dont know why i expected goodmark parts to be any diffrent from other made in asia parts.
some say the fit is perfect with goodmark parts. i see no diffrence. i guess its better than working with the rusted out parts i had.
For starters i would make sure all the jack stands are under the suspension not the frame/stub
