New '32 Roadster test ride...spring is here

We were finishing some work on a new 32 roadster (top down) and decided to take a break and take it for a spin..

We started it up and let it run for a few minutes while we got our stuff out of the way. Turned the heater on (only 40 and blustery today) and backed out of the driveway. Temp is 180 and holding. Gunish, gunish, guess the clutch needs adjusting too. Well we got under way and purred down the street. slow down, double clutch to 1st, tromp on it, whoo hooo 30 feet and a good screech, nice bark in second, another in third, whooo 90 is coming up fast. Jump on the brakes, oops looks like there is a bit of bump steer in this one. Down one and around the bend, back up to 3rd, slip into 4th and cruise out on to the highway. Whooo hooo this is fun. Down to third and around the big truck, up to 4th and holy mph batman we are moving. haha

There is the exit ramp, aahh looks like the turn signals are backwards...write that down to fix, down to third, hard on the brakes, down to 2nd ease up to the stop light. Right turn, on the pedal and light 'em up batman, power shift to 2nd, smokin' em up, power shift to 3rd then ease into 4th. Look back over shoulder...most of the street covered with smoke. haha

oops puddle across the street....splish splash taking a bath, oh well it needs a cleanup before we deliver it anyway.

Time to head for the shop. Not a bad car, no rattles, good heater, fair power, clutch is better but needs adjustment, blinkers need reversing, speedometer reads too high haha, need to put the top up next time. haha bbuurr it's a little cool now.

Car show this week end.

er,...where's the pics ...or better yet, a video

I'm not a fan of wasting precious time on Youtube, but I did look at a few "in the car-looking thru the chopped windshield" videos of early open hood rods out on the road. Very insprirational to say the least

You didn't exceed the speed limit now did you???

I know, it was an accident and you'll never do it again.

Haha. My dad used to say it was easier to shoot his age when playing golf as he got older.

Well my age is more than a lot of speed limits so I don't know what the analogy is there. I think this little roadster would exceed my age/speed limit in 2nd without trying very hard. haha
