New 350 valve body vs 350 Valve body reprogramming kit

Im going to make my 350 fully manual. I cant figure out whether to get a completely new valve body or just reprogram the one I have. Obviously reprogramming my current one is cheaper, but is it as good as just getting a new valve body? Will they both hold up to the same abuse?

Manual shift TH350 trans.

My vote is for a DIY kit for your existing valve body. Why pay someone more that what you can do-it-yourself for? Plus, there's always the satisfaction factor, and bragging rights you earn by doing-it-yourself. Anyone can install parts; not everyone can build their own.

I suggest a TransGo 350-3 kit for full manual shifts on a street vehicle. The TransGo kit can be converted back to automatic operation if you like.

If you have a trans that is weak or high mileage , expect problems to occur with this conversion.

The conversion raises line pressures , creates much firmer shifts.
