New 48 Chevy Truck Bed....

I am wanting to buy a NEW complete bed for my 48 Chevy truck.

I would like to hear from someone who has bought a bed from MAR-K product. How is the quality and the prep time to get paint ready?

Not to options on where to buy a new a bed.

Also does anybody know where i can get a new dash for my truck. Like somebody who fabricates new dashes ?????????

Thanks
Bg

I got my front section, tailgate and rear fenders from chevy
duty. Expect a few small dings in fenders. I have spent
about 2700 with chevy duty and all parts were top quality.
I have seen a few complaints about Brothers.

I used a Mark K front panel from Chevy Duty and it is very good quality. I was at Chevy Duty a couple of weeks ago and they have one they are doing using the complete repo bed and it looks good to me.

I am currently painting a 49 Chevy PU for my son. We purchased a complete new bed from Mar-K. It is an excellent quality bed. However, it has taken a lot of prep time to get it ready to paint. There are many spot welds that have to be worked to get a smooth finish.

At a recent national event hear in Indy I talked to the guys from Pros-Pick and looked at their bed. They also offer a complete bed, however it is not 100% original in it's detailing. It is slightly more expensive but if you count your paint prep time it's probably well worth the extra $$. I also have a 48 Chevy and when it is time to purchase the bed I am going with Pros-Pick. They also have a cool solid aluminum cover for it.

Thanks D
