new battery

It's time to replace the battery in the rod. After 11 years the Optima is failing to take a charge. While I am more than satisfied with the Optima, before I buy a new one I would like to get some opinions on other batteries.
The car is stored for months at a time with a Battery Minder connected to maintain charge. The engine is a SBC (ZZ4) mild setup. It cranks over fine until gas pumps to the carb. then boom.
Then we go and run ppp*** out of it.
Anyways, I'm interested in the Odyssey PC680 which has been mentioned here.
This is, I believe, a motorcycle battery but has ratings that put it is the class with other car batteries.
Any input or personal experience would be welcomed.
