ol School?
I guess my memory is a little fuzzy on the 60's area GTO's, because I don't see any retro GTO in the photoshop version. All I ever hear these days is ol school this or that. Some people just don't get it, you can't make ol school cars, they have to be OLD to start with. It really doesn't matter one way or an other, the car is dead. Just another lame attempt from GM.

haha tell me about it guys, I saw the yellow car at ultimate gto .com and had to have a laugh. The guys over at performance years say 2009 is the rumored date for release of the next GTO built here on some new rear drive platform, as they are dropping the entire exsiting monaro/GTO platform. according to bob lutz. I read a while back though that they had ceased devlopment on the new mid size rear drive platform called kappa or something like that. So who knows.
Here's my ultimate GTO. Don't mind the iroc wheels, as the stockers don't fit over the brakes, and I'm a poor man saving up for a tig. |

Gto
OK guys, about the GTO name, Ferrari had the real gto's back in 1962 and no car manufacture has even come close to duplicating a 250 GTO Ferrari. The Pontiac etc are toys trying to be big boys.

hahaha, big boys, haha. I don't know man, but PHS says my goat's a rea GTO. I guess you've never seen the car and driver article when they pitted the ferrari againts the pontiac back in the day. I'm not gonna say who won. Read.
Hey stu, does your ferrari have a flathead ford, or smallblock chevy in it? I do love the 62 260GTB ferrari's though, sweet ride. wouldn't mind a 96 348TB either. |

Not to try to drag this out too much with the import/GTO debate, but a big part of the reason the GTO was canned is also because Holden stopped making Monaros, but the Monaro sold like hot cakes here

Taken from the Holden site
" Right from the beginning Monaro defined a new breed of Australian sports car. Its balance of power and agility wrapped in a muscular coupe body earned it cult status. Success on the racetrack established an icon. Built with a passion true to the legend, Monaro has earned its place as an undisputed classic amongst great contemporary road cars. Now the special edition CV8Z is the last of its generation. Engineered and designed without compromise to deliver the ultimate Monaro." http://www.holden.com.au/www-holden/...?modelid=12003 http://ntnews.news.com.au/common/sto...5E1702,00.html I suppose I should have made myself clearer. They have ceased this generation of the Monaro. Last I heard or read it was axed altogether. So... a new generation? Should be interesting and here they aint imports. Just some of the ballsiest cars on the road. Craig Last edited by klassik100; 04-02-2006 at 03:56 AM. |
