new cam

ok so I just changed to a voodoo 60102 from the biggest trick flow cam available. I was having problems with my truck popping and back firing and no vacuum. Now the truck idles great, 15 in hg of vac., sitting about 10 degrees btdc initial. But when I try to accelerate it seems like it stumbles, like a mis-fire. Could fouled plugs present this kind of symptom? or maybe a bad plug wire, or could it be timing? I have a recurve kit with one light spring and one medium spring. I did notice when I brought it up to 3500 rpm It would only advance about 10 degrees. Max advance should be about 36 degrees without vac advance, I'm not even getting close to that. I need help.

Put 12 degrees in at the crank and 24 in at the weights for a total of 36, all in by 2800-3000. If you can't set it up, take the distributor to a speed shop that can do it for you.

will do, since this cam doesn't need 22 degrees at idle 36 by 3000 seems easy enough to achieve. Thanks for the advice.

It's a 350, I had a 600 but with the cam I had I went up to the 800 because i couldn't get it rich enough. I do have the calibration kit, I can try to lean it out a few steps in the power and cruise mode.

id set at 32 degrees @3000rpm's and see how it likes it, as for the 800 carb just keep an eye on your plugs if it ant to rich then it should do fine, just play with the timing, see where the motor likes it best, is this motor for daily driveing???

Not really daily driving. Between my wife and I we have two daily drivers, it's more like a sunday driver. It's just an 88 s-10 swb. I really just want to get it running like it should than sell it. I'm looking for a 34 ford.
