I'd like to put a 500 horse 6.0L LS motor with a 6spd in it. Going to keep the body stock and the interior pretty stock as well. I picked this car up from a hoarder in Forest Lawn

Welcome aboard, I'm from Alberta as well and have been transplanted in Ontario (for now), love the mid to late 30's Chevy's and am a big 37 fan, very similar body, just less wood. Go Oiler's, did I mention I was from Edmonton, Sorry bout that...LOL.

Yeah I noticed the wood in the door jam, around the door windows and on the edges of the floor... do most Hotrodders get rid of it or just put wood kits in?

A lot depends on what your doing with the car. Your talking about 500 HP. Well, if it was mine, I'd replace the wood with metal. I'm also assuming that with the intent of 500 HP your going to be doing something with the frame and suspension. Those 500 ponies along with (a guess) 450 'lbs of torque are going to try and do a bunch of twisting and wood or weak areas on your frame are gonna be the first to take a beating. Remember that the original oil dipper six in that car had what...65, 70 horse power.

Yeah those were my thoughts too, I'll have to get some metal in there. I'm thinking I might just buy an aftermarket rolling chassis or do a swap, as I want power steering, 4 wheel disc brakes and an independent front

You've got a good looking platform to start...figuring out what you want now will determine how much your going to spend. With your wish list, your looking at needing a fairly large budget...but, there's a bunch of information here that can guide you through it. Patience is going to be a key element especially on a budget.
