New Corvette C7 "Stingray"

Just saw photos of the new Corvette Stingray. Beautiful styling. As much as I would like one, I just don't trust GM producing a reliable tested product in 2013. It is a very nice looking car .

I like it. The front looks a little bit dated, not too bad though, loving the back end. This article has some input":From

These guys don't like the back end. A refreshing new look, I love it. 450 horse, ooooh yeah baby! After the last Corvette, this is a fresh look. The lat Vette reminded me of a Viper or something out of the movie "Cars". Too cutesie for me. I think Chevie hit a homer this time, not a grand slam but a homer fer shur!

The 'Vette has never been a low-priced car, but lately only the "financially secure" (read older guys) could afford it, and it wound up being seen as a car that only "old guys" (like me, I guess) buy and drive. If it cost a couple of hundred thousand MORE it would be seen as a competitor for Ferrari, Lamborghini etc, and if it cost half as much it would be seen as a "sports car".

It's like it is sort of in "no man's land" in the middle, without a defined market niche and without any strong image.

Yes its image is "performance" but for who?

Suggestion for GM: Don't change a thing on this new version (maybe add some more hand-stitched leather) and raise the price to a starting level of $275,000. You'll sell the same number of them and make more $$$

At least it will have a defined image and market

Aztec vette

Just got a look at the new vette. Another government motor disaster with the camaro looking rear. Way too many lines. I'm looking for something to roost and lay an egg on it. Just my way of looking at it. I am somewhat happy that I can't afford it.

What I was thinking also.

What puzzles me sometimes is this: Where do you go to get the streamlined look, the sporty look, The Corvette look? You're certainly not going to please everyone with the styling, but getting a modern look while having the capability to haul the mail and still be affordable was a massive undertaking. I did not like the last style change, the open headlight look, it just went against the Corvette style. But now we've had one generation with that look, this generation of Vette pulls it off much nicer. I love the back end, it is unique and surely won't be mistaken for any other car as you suck up it's exhaust... The more I see the car, the more it grows on me. I had a 91 that is a pig in performance compared to these new Vettes, I will have to test drive one of these.

yeah, this is much cleaner than the last change. I think before that change though the changes were very subtle and as a result when they came out they didn't really appeal cause people thought they looked exactly like the vette of a few years prior. I'm sure a lot of Vette purists don't agree but I always thought Vettes were always one step behind the curve since the 90's in terms of having a stylish body. this sort of changes that in my opinion, and it still has somewhat of a Vette look. I give it a big thumbs up!
