new drive shafts after 4" lift?

i put a 4" rough country lift on my 83 jimmy. no blocks or body lift, just four new leaf springs and shocks and stuff. it looks like my front and rear drive shafts are stretched to capacity. it runs fine and makes no noises (a little vibration) but i fear if i get into a tough spot offroad and my suspension is put to the test that one or both drive shafts will either split or fall out of the tranny. is this a legitimate fear? they are both two piece drive shafts and i don't want to be stranded.

i'm not a 4x4 guy- but you could mark your shafts now at ride hight with a paint marker pen (the junkyard stuff) then use a HighLift style jack to lift the ends of your truck to stretch suspension and mark again. after this process take them apart, measure the difference, then call lift manu. to get advice what to do. at least after this step you know where it's at for specs.

my buddy told me to quit being a p___y and just go balls out with it. he offered to follow me with a tow strap and pull me home if need be. what he didn't offer was to pay for any residual damage. his solution sounds more fun. you know the old saying "wheel it - wreck it - wrench on it"

new drive shafts after 4" lift?

does it still have the ten bolt clicker posi in it ?
it will probably spit it out first .
4 inch lifts don't require shafts and rear end tilt spacers to get the pinion up .
did you block the sway bar mounts , it will pull the front housing forward and will spit the bushings out when they get wet and muddy and you get it in a tight spot.
tell your buddy to show you how to run the trails , he might need your truck to pull him out , or is he a p---y ?
get ur - bogged down - done !
