Vortec heads won't fit a Pontiac engine! Why is it that Chevy people think that the Chevy is the only engine out there? I see a lot of engine qustions on here without a ckue of what engine they're asking about. In almost all cases it's about a Chevy.

Actually Yes. If you look at them they are very much designed to do what vortec heads on a chevy do.Create swirl. The chambers look very similar to the chevy, and In My opinion ( wich is an opinion) actually look better shaped and have the spark plug canted towards the exhaust wich is also better for combustion.Just My opinion of course.Obviously a far superior head compared to a stock chevy votec head. But that is my opinion of course.Any body else?

You would have to ask Vic Edelbrock that question. But I think he did his own homework

This is a Pontiac D port intake gasket on a Chevy Vortec head and on a Pontiac D port head. You be the judge.

the flow on the eddys is better than the stock vortec and the real edge is the chamber shape and plug location. The shape makes little difference when the flow numbers come in

runner size and the narrow section of the runner have more to do with flow than the simple port shape betwen the intake and the head

What are the flow numbers before porting? The Chevy Vortec was made for a 305 and 350 engine. The Pontiac D port head is one size fits all.
