New Engine Built & Dyno'd

Finally finished the 499 Engine for my '71 Duster! It's been a long time coming as the engine has been at the engine builders since early Spring, 2004. The 499 and new transmission in MAX now. All the plumbing and electrical still needs to be hooked up. The drive shaft needs to be put in MAX as well as a multitude of other things. More than likely, we’ll fire MAX up tomorrow and rattle some of our neighbors windows!

On the Dyno, MAX (my car) pulled 758 hp at 6800 rpm.

I hope you enjoy the photos! If you have any questions about my engine or trans, please PM me and I'll try to answer as best I can.

The radiator is made by Northern, made in Kentucky or Tennessee (can't remember). But it is USA made. The radiator was purchased off of Ebay. This particular radiator is a double-pass. It was around $269.00.

Spahl Dual Fans. When the fans are on, just one of these fans draws more than one 16 inch fan! The Spahl Dual Fans were purchased for about $400 to $500.

The cost to build the motor: Well, lets just say that it cost more than some people make in a year.

My car will run in the low 9's.

Before the motor was rebuilt, ran high 9's and low 10's. It depends on the time of day and temperature.

Thank you very much! Can't wait for hubby to finish up today so we can fire him up!

I'll be doing testing and tuning this week and next with MAX. That is what I call my '71 Duster. He's got a long history behind him.

Thanks again for the compliment! Actually, I think MAX and his new engine and trans are pretty AWESOME myself!

Since he/she plagiarized all of his/her "History of Protective Coatings" post I have to wonder how many if any of the pics he/she posted are his/hers? My guess - NONE!

Please don't feed the TROLLS!

To the DUMP!!!!!

I'm glad you "guessed" and didn't "assume".

This is my car. Thought I would share my pictures of my new engine with those that are interested.

Thank you for looking!

Hey Babe just so we can believe that these pics are yours, can you take a pic of the car with you standing in front of it holding a sign/paper that says "hotrodders.com".........cause some people have been saying you're a troll, some you've been lying, so if you can please prove that the car is yours.
I like it a lot by the way

Mike

Thanks Mike! If this were your car, and people had been very nasty to you, would you want to bend over backwards to prove anything to them? I think you'd say NO! They wanted pictures of my car off the race track. They wanted pictures of my car, without the engine. They wanted pictures of the engine of my car, not in the car. They wanted pictures of my engine on the dyno. They wanted the moon! I gave them what they asked for but I'm not giving them anymore.

As far as this TROLL word is concerned ... from the part of the country (USA) where I come from, TROLL means WHORE! So, if this hotrodders.com community is calling me a WHORE .... well, what would you think I should do about these people calling me a WHORE? When, in fact, I am everything but a WHORE!

But for you Mike, I will try to take a picture of MAX and me.

Thanks again for the nice compliment. I like my car too! MAX and I are real buddies!

Howdy Camaro409! I run MAX at DaGrove in Wisconsin. No, I don't like their short shutdown area, but I do race there, as well as in Michigan, St. Louis (I have nieces in St. Louis), Rt. 66 and elsewhere. I also have other cars, one which is not a drag car, and the Formula Ford has been raced in Elkhart and also down at Road Atlanta and the southern part of the USA. The Forumula Ford is really fun to drive.

If all goes well with putting my engine in MAX, I may be at DaGrove over the weekend, just to do some testing and tuning. MAX is much faster than what he was before I had his new engine built, so I need some time in the seat to get used to his new engine, plus to make sure everything is working ok. I am ordering new slicks and wheels today, too.

On my lift, I've got a '63 Dodge MaxWedge SuperStock that my husband will build for me over the winter. We've got a 572 that we'll be dropping in the '63.

Also, we've got a '69 Z-28! I love Camaro's and so does my husband!

I've lived all over the US and never heard the term Troll used as a synonym for whore. However if you want to associate the two that's fine with me.

Here a Troll is someone who spends their time disrupting the board or attempting to mislead, lie or otherwise misrepresent themselves. Your plagiarism on the "History of Protective Coatings" post was and is direct evidence of attempting to take credit for someone else's intellectual property. This was dishonest at a minimum so please Rebecca, don't try to lecture me or any of the other mods about your honesty. Based on your short history here, you can see why the vast majority of people are a bit suspicious about all these "toys" you claim to own.

if this is your engine, how come we don't see any pics of you working on it? I mean, did you pay for it? Because logic would dictate that if you didn't pay for ALL of the parts, and obviously these other guys are doing the work... its not yours. I'm not trying to be a *****, but it does help to have some personal reference for these type of things. For example (and not for a shameless plug or anything) but if you check out my gallery and journal, there I am, hands dirty and hooking up the chains to pull my 305 out... you've got to have something like that.... honestly, pictures like those above are something I could get on the internet in like 35 seconds...

and I could say its mine too.

Just a thought-

K
