New Engine Oil Priming

I have a new SBC crate engine with a hyd roller cam and hyd roller rockers. I have been trying to prime the engine with oil using a Summit Racing priming tool made for this engine. After runing the oil pump with the priming tool two seperate times I am only getting oil in two or threes rockers on each side. And the oil is only oozing out of the rockers not shoooting out like I thought it should. I don't want to turn the engine over without oil in all of the bearings and rockers!
I would appreciate any ideas or experience other people have had.
Thanks, Dick

Is the drill that you're using fast enough to get the oil all the way up there? Low RPM drills I hear won't get oil all over evenly

What I do is prime it like you did, then rotate (by hand) the crank 1/4 turn at a time and prime it again until the crank has gone a full 360*. That allow all of the oil journals on the crank to align with the main bearing journal on each particular crank bearing.

The amount of oil will depend on the speed at which the oil pump is turning. I use a modified dist with a hand drill.

I start at TDC.

Priming is important in all cases but not 100% critical with a roller. As mentioned already, turn the crank 1/4 turn and you will most likely see the rest of the rockers show oil. You also need to use a real strong drill to get any volume.
