New Flywheel Question

I bought a 16 lb steel flywheel for my 327/T-5 Datsun 240z project... the flywheel has oil all over it, to protect it while in storage.
? is what is the best way to clean this oil off? Soap and hot water comes to mind (my wife loves it when i steal her Dawn and return the bottle all greasy, haha)... then I thought maybe paint thinner.
thanks, bob

Hmm, a degreaser perhaps, like Purple Stuff. Most any decent engine degreaser will work, with a wire brush and some time.

engine degreaser is basically kerosene and leaves an oily film. Use carburetor or brake cleaner. Rotors are coated in teh same stuff and recommended to be cleaned with none other than... you guessed it! Brake cleaner.
