new front end width

i am measuring for a new straight axle front end and was wondering what width axle to get to fit under a 1930 model a with fenders. i will be using 37 style spindles and disc brakes. if any one can give some suggestions that would be appreciated.

Most of the chassis guys use a 46 inch ( center to center ) axle under a Model A.......and a lot of 32's. BUT... I have a 48 inch one under my 32 ( both of them ).....



You can see from the above photo that I have plenty of clearance but a 32 is a little wider than a Model A..... and my rims are not reversed so they do not hang out far from the wheel mounting flange.

I would play it safe and get a 46 inch.....
